Six week-long totals with pickup and return at LPA. One holds no deposit and two hold €1,100, so the line under each car matters.

Gran Canaria Airport pickupTypical day rates per class, from the deals’ week. Premium rests on a single car, so read it as one example.
Manuals far outnumber automatics at LPA, so set the gearbox filter early. As elsewhere in Spain, the cars are local firms’ own.
Read the voucher on landing: it has the meeting point and the firm’s number.
Head to the meeting point in the voucher instead of the rental desks, and call the firm if the spot is unclear.
The terminal closes to the public at night, and only some cars are offered then. Search with your real arrival time.
Pick a return time that leaves room to unload, finish the check with the firm and reach departures.
Practical information for an arrival or departure through Gran Canaria Airport.
Only some cars here ask for one. Others may take a debit card for the deposit, so check the methods on the car.
Debit, not cash: the Fiat Panda in the deals, for instance, takes its deposit by credit or debit card only. Each car lists its methods, as with all cars in Spain that need no credit card.
Some LPA cars are car rental in Spain with no deposit, among them the Renault Twingo above; others hold up to €1,700.
Traffic drives on the right. Lanes marked for buses, taxis or bikes are closed to hire cars, so keep out of them.
Use the outer right-hand lane to leave a roundabout unless signs say otherwise; go around again if you cannot reach it safely.
Spanish-registered cars must carry a connected V-16 light and a reflective vest. Check both are there before you set off.
Call the rental company straight away and get a police report unless it agrees otherwise, or the cover can lapse.
Allow extra time for traffic and stops. Las Palmas means Parque Santa Catalina, and Tejeda means the town, not the Roque Nublo trailhead.
From Gran Canaria Airport: Las Palmas, about 40 min for 28.0 km; Maspalomas, about 45 min for 39.1 km; Puerto Rico, about 55 min for 52.6 km; Puerto de Mogán, about 1 h for 58.9 km; Agaete, about 1 h 15 min for 57.2 km; Tejeda, about 1 h 30 min for 50.7 km.
For an inland drive on Gran Canaria, leave more time than the distance alone suggests. The route to Tejeda uses mountain roads.
Calima can reduce visibility, so check conditions before driving inland. Keep to paved public roads even if your navigation suggests a shortcut.
Not every car can travel between Canary Islands by ferry. Ask for approval for your chosen vehicle before booking an island crossing.
Choose your return location before comparing prices. If you want to finish on another island, discuss the journey with the company first.
Pick the airport for pickup and your return place for drop-off, and book only a combination the search lists.
Look at the total for both chosen locations. Include any collection or return fee when deciding which car to book.
Confirm the return directions with the company at pickup. Give yourself time to unload and finish the inspection before leaving.
Compare the monthly figures if you have a choice of holiday dates. Your final quote will depend on the car and the times you select.
Put every intended driver on the reservation and check that their age and experience meet the chosen car’s conditions.
Choose suitable child seats while booking. Confirm the equipment with the company before setting off for the airport.
Check space with everyone’s seat in use, especially if your luggage includes a pushchair or several large cases.
A small pet can join you in its carrier. Keep it inside the carrier whenever it travels in the vehicle.
Three different set-ups appear among the six deals.
Twingo: full cover, nothing held. The Renault Twingo includes SuperCDW with no excess and no deposit.
Panda and Polo: €1,100 excess. Both include CDW, and the excess matches the deposit.
Fiat 500, Aygo and SEAT Ibiza: no excess. CDW with no damage share and €350 held.
Not covered. Standard cover leaves out wheels, underbody, glass and interior; deliberate damage or neglect voids it.
Your original licence, valid to the end of the hire and readable in Latin script. Copies are refused.
Carry an International Driving Permit alongside it, ready to show the firm.
Each car sets a minimum age and driving experience, and the firm may refuse anyone below them.
Match the fuel level you had at pickup.
With the 24-hour cancellation option, which many cars carry, you can cancel until a day before pickup.
Give 7 days’ notice, or 30 for luxury cars and convertibles; later cancellations and no-shows lose the advance.
Email the voucher to support. Repayment comes within 14 days, minus the 6% payment fee; changing dates means rebooking.
Some cars, yes. Night pickups narrow the choice and can cost extra, and the terminal is closed to the public overnight.
Only where the car lists a debit card for the deposit. It must be a physical, embossed card in the main driver’s name.
Yes, some cars hold none, such as the Twingo in the deals. Others hold from €100 to €1,700.
Not here. Every car at this airport is listed or similar, so expect a car of the same class rather than a set model.
Some cap the daily distance and some do not. Long drives inland to Tejeda add up, so check the cap on the car.
Choose Gran Canaria Airport as your starting point and compare cars for the full stay, including payment and protection requirements.
