Car rental in Mauritius with no deposit

Mauritius car hire that leaves your money untouched: zero-deposit cars at Mauritius Airport or delivered to your address, each showing its cover and payment terms.

No-deposit car hire deals

Where can your rental begin?

The airport has zero-deposit pickup on some cars. Delivery also reaches Belle Mare and Mahébourg, plus the towns below.

Which costs remain in the booking?

Reservation advance

Pay 15 to 20% online, based on the rental cost alone, without handover charges. This goes towards the hire and is not a deposit.

Remaining rental bill

Pay the outstanding hire to the company at pickup by its listed methods. A cash-only car stays cash-only, even if others take cards.

Delivery charges

A handover at your address may add a delivery charge, already in the total. Compare the full amount against airport pickup.

Time-related charges

Some pickup or return times, daytime included, can add a charge. Enter accurate times at both ends so the price is right.

What does a zero security figure change?

Money kept free

A zero-deposit booking needs no deposit payment or block at pickup, so your travel money stays yours, not held by the company.

The initial amount

Search shows the deposit for the first cover level. If you upgrade, look at the deposit again; the final one is what counts.

Mauritius car hire insurance options

Choose cover by the damage cost it leaves you, not just by the deposit attached to it.

Minimum coverageIncluded as standard
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Damage to your hire car (not included)
Basic coverage
  • Limited collision cover (CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Glass and tyre damage (not included)
Full Coverage
  • Limited driver liability (Super CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
Full Coverage Plus
  • Full damage cover (included)
  • No driver liability for accident damage (included)
  • Basic CDW limits your share of covered collision damage, but interior, wheels, windscreen and undercarriage are uninsured as standard. Full adds Super CDW; the car decides if your share falls.
  • The deposit guarantees the rental; the excess is your share of insured damage. Equal figures still differ, and on some cars Super CDW cuts the deposit, not the share.
  • Some Mauritius cars keep zero deposit at every level yet leave a damage share below Full Coverage Plus. Plus removes it, priced car by car; some cars lack it.
  • Neglect, vandalism and deliberate damage are uninsured. Use public paved roads and stop driving in floods or cyclones of category three or higher; that damage is excluded.
If an incident occurs

Phone the Mauritius company without delay and obtain police papers, unless it has agreed otherwise. Skipping the call or the report cancels the cover, and the bill is all yours.

Which vehicles still require a deposit?

Positive security offers

Airport and town rentals also include cars that hold a deposit, some payable in cash. The amount is per booking, not per place.

Refund conditions

Where a deposit applies, the booking and voucher say how it is paid and returned. Some take debit; cash may not come straight back.

Select the right booking conditions

  1. Set your journey

Enter the island pickup point, return place and dates. Add your age and licence years to hide cars you cannot drive.

  2. Narrow the results

Switch on No deposit and choose a car. Read all its conditions, pick extras, then carry on with the booking.

  3. Keep your confirmation

Once booked, keep the company contacts from the email to talk about the car and your pickup directly.

Holding funds versus using credit

Zero security amount

Zero deposit takes the deposit out of pickup. Some of these Mauritius cars also skip credit, but check payment methods separately.

Credit-card alternatives

Renting without credit still has named-driver card rules. Follow your booking’s debit rule; if credit is required, bring it.

Practical questions about your hire

Can I get an automatic or a seven-seater with no deposit?

Yes, both are offered with no deposit. Check the offer, as “Or similar” bookings allow a substitute in the same class. In Grand Baie, zero-deposit automatics come with delivery too.

How is a short hire billed, and can I extend it?

The first charge covers twenty-four hours, even if you use less, and starting another day costs a whole day. The rule is the same at the airport and with delivery. Get extra time approved while the rental is still running.

Could a deposit-free booking leave me with other expenses?

Yes. You still pay fuel, parking and fines, and a wash if dirt blocks the return check. Waiving the deposit removes none of these. Delivery can also add a charge, which is already in the total.

Can I bring a pet in a no-deposit car?

Small pets can ride inside a travel carrier; larger animals cannot. Having no deposit does not widen this.

Does the company need to reach me before pickup?

Yes. Give the number with its international code and keep it on from the day before until handback. If calls and messages fail, later service complaints are not accepted.
