Car rental in Bali without a credit card

Hire a car in Bali without a credit card, with pickup at Ngurah Rai Airport or hotel delivery. Each car shows its deposit and payment methods before you book.

Bali car hire deals with no credit card

Where can your rental begin?

Start with the pickup you need on arrival. Denpasar-area cars can be delivered to other towns in Bali.

How is the hire charge paid?

Booking advance

A 15 to 20% advance online secures the booking. The rest goes to the Bali company at pickup, by a method your car accepts.

Cash payment

Some Bali cars take only cash for the balance; others take cash or card. Deposit methods are a separate list.

Debit conditions

Where debit works, the booking and voucher say so. Bring a physical debit card embossed with the main driver’s details; no digital cards.

Quotation currency

Bali companies price in US dollars. The euro amounts are conversions, so they shift with exchange rates even if the price does not.

What can the company hold as security?

Cash-only security

Some delivered cars take the deposit in cash only. Keep that money aside from the hire balance, as the same model elsewhere may take cards.

Card-only security

Some airport cars want the deposit on a debit or credit card, with no cash option, so cash alone will not always do.

Insurance for Bali car rental

Your payment method has no effect on cover. Read the levels offered on the car you choose.

Minimum coverageIncluded as standard
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Damage to your hire car (not included)
Basic coverage
  • Limited collision cover (CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Glass and tyre damage (not included)
Full Coverage
  • Limited driver liability (Super CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
Full Coverage Plus
  • Full damage cover (included)
  • No driver liability for accident damage (included)
  • Basic gives CDW with a limited damage share. It leaves out the windscreen, wheels, underside and interior, so check what higher levels include.
  • Vandalism and neglect void the cover. Full Coverage brings Super CDW, which may cut your share from Basic, though on some Bali cars it stays the same.
  • Full Coverage Plus can be bought on some Bali cars, priced per offer. Within its terms, accident damage costs the driver nothing.
  • On some cars the deposit stays the same when you upgrade from Basic to Full, even though your damage share drops. Excess and deposit are separate.
After an insured incident

Tell the Bali company straight away and have the police write a report, unless it agrees another way. If you do not, the cover is void and the full loss is yours.

Could a company insist on credit?

Conditional requirement

Indonesian rental rules let a company require a credit card on a booking. Check each car; not every Bali offer accepts other methods.

Driver’s credit card

Where credit is required, the main driver shows their own embossed card in person. A passenger’s card is refused, even if it paid.

How to find a suitable vehicle

  1. Set the trip

Enter pickup and return, then the driver’s age and years of driving. Similar models can set different age limits.

  2. Apply the filter

Choose No credit card in the search options and open a car. Look over its conditions and extras before booking.

  3. Keep the email

Save the confirmation email with the company’s contacts. Use them to talk to the company directly about the handover.

Payment choice versus security amount

No credit requirement

No credit card tells you which payments the company takes. A deposit can still apply, so cash or debit hire may hold money too.

No security held

No-deposit cars mean nothing is held. Several Bali towns have them, but Uluwatu and Padangbai cars keep a deposit.

Before you collect: common questions

Which licence documents should I pack for a Bali rental?

Your own national licence in Latin script, valid until you hand the car back; copies and digital versions do not count. If it is for home use only, carrying an International Driving Permit is strongly advised.

Can I cancel a Bali reservation made with a debit payment?

Yes: seven days’ notice, or thirty for luxury models or convertibles; an option allows a day’s notice. A late cancel or change, or an unarranged no-show, loses the advance. Refunds take up to fourteen days, minus six percent for payment fees.

Will an overnight arrival change the Bali collection cost?

It can. Some airport cars add a charge for pickup or return outside opening hours, so book with the times you will really land and leave. In the search, Bali Airport pickup is listed under Denpasar.

What fuel level should I leave when returning the rental?

The amount shown on the pickup record. Any fuel missing is billed at the company’s own rate, and you get nothing back for extra fuel.

Can my rented vehicle leave Bali on a ferry?

No. The car must stay on Bali and on paved public roads. A port pickup gives you a car in Bali, not permission to cross to another island. That applies wherever you pick up.
