from €40 a dayThese typical prices are for airport pickup. If you only need a car after a few days in Tirana, compare city delivery separately.
Your voucher gives the pickup place and the company’s phone number. Each company runs its own handover, so follow those instructions.
Add your country code and stay reachable from the day before. Save the company’s number and follow its meeting instructions.
Choose Tirana Airport for the return and agree where. Allow time for the check; returning elsewhere needs a one-way booking.
Tirana Airport, Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza and Rinas are the same airport, seventeen kilometres outside Tirana.
After you collect your bags, follow the meeting instructions on your confirmation. Check the car’s condition and fuel with the company before you drive off, and keep your booking phone on so the company can reach you.
What the terminal offers, where to park or stop, and the road rules that matter as you drive out in your rental car.
P1 has covered and open spaces, P2 and P3 are covered, and there is an underground car park too.
Prices depend on the area and the time you stay, and can change with the season.
Some Tirana Airport cars need no deposit. Others take a cash deposit or need a credit card; check these separately from paying the balance.
Pay 15 to 20% when you book and the rest to the company at pickup. Any deposit is separate. A cash deposit does not mean you can pay the balance in cash, and a car with no credit card needed can still have a deposit.
If a credit card is needed, the main driver brings their own physical card with embossed details; another traveller’s card will not do. A debit card works only if your booking and voucher accept it, and it must be embossed too.
Some cars start with no deposit; on others a higher cover level removes it. Choose the deposit and the way you will pay before you arrive.
Drive times from the Tirana Airport pickup to the capital, the coast and inland towns. Allow extra time for the handover first.

Further south, Gjirokastër and Himarë are each well over three hours away, and Ksamil, past Sarandë, about 4 h 30 min: a long drive after a flight.
Krujë castle is a short trip, about half an hour from the airport. Do not carry on into Qafë-Shtamë Nature Park; rental cars are not allowed there.
The Tirana time ends at Skanderbeg Square and the Durrës time at the seafront, so add the last stretch to your hotel and time for parking.
Plan the last drive to the airport before your flight. Follow the company’s return instructions; a public car park may not be the return point.
From Tirana, take the SH2 towards Durrës, the ramp onto the SH60 airport road, then the second exit at the last roundabout. From Durrës, take the SH2 to Vorë, the SH52 and the SH60; after about 3.1 km, take the third exit.
Parking costs and fines are yours to pay; neither the deposit nor extra cover pays for them.
Return the car with the same fuel level. Missing fuel is charged at the company’s rate; extra fuel is not refunded. If the car is too dirty to inspect, you pay for cleaning.
Some cars offer night pickup, even at 03:00. The airport never closes, but each car’s price shows if a late handover costs extra.
Enter the pickup time you really need when comparing. Some cars add a night charge to the price. The airport’s hours are not the company’s hours.
An early return can cost extra too. Enter the return time before you book, and agree the handback so the check fits before your flight.
A car that allows late pickup may still charge more for it, while some cars have no night charge. Compare the final price for both pickup and return.
After a late flight, think about the drive as well as the pickup. Main roads outside towns may be unlit, with potholes, unmarked roadworks and unlit vehicles.
Each company sets its own night hours, so do not go by the airport’s opening times.
If you decide to start the rental the next day, change your booking and tell the company before the handover. Even after a late arrival, leave time for the paperwork and the car check.
Some airport rentals can end in Sarandë or Himarë, so you do not have to drive back to Tirana Airport.

Car hire in Sarandë →

Choose Himarë as your return place when you search.
Select your return town, then compare the full price.
In Sarandë you can return to a city address, an office or the port on some cars; in Himarë, to an agreed address. A port return is only a handover point. A Montenegro trip does not allow a Podgorica return.
Airport pickups for seven days from the 15th of each month, November 2026 to October 2027. N/A means no price was available.
Typical daily prices at the airport. Your car, dates and handover times set your price.
The chart is for airport pickup only; a Tirana address can cost a different amount. Use it to compare travel months.
N/A does not mean airport rentals stop that month; companies add dates over time. Check your own dates when you are ready to book, especially for a particular car or a larger one.
Manuals and automatics at Tirana Airport, with some larger cars seating seven to nine. Check the seats and extras on the car before a family arrival.
Choose your gearbox, then check how many seats the car has. A van label alone does not tell you how many it carries.
Pick child seats, baby seats or boosters from the car’s extras. Add another driver as an extra if needed.
Automatics come in different sizes. Compare gearbox, seats and luggage space to find a car that suits everyone.
Each car has its own extras. Check child seats again if you change car; one car’s extras may not be on another.
Minimum cover (TPL) comes with every rental. Compare the higher levels on your car, what you would still pay and which parts are not covered.
Not covered. Standard cover excludes interior, underside, wheels and windscreen damage. Neglect, vandalism or banned roads cancel your cover at every level.
All four levels. Some airport cars offer all four levels; Full Coverage Plus removes the deposit and what you pay for accident damage, within its terms.
Car by car. Other Tirana Airport cars may keep the deposit or not offer Plus. Check the excess separately; theft cover may be an extra.
After an accident. Tell the company straight away and get a police report unless it says otherwise. If you skip this, you pay in full.
Your own car insurance does not replace rental damage cover, and driving abroad needs separate permission, not just more cover.
Check the driver rules on the car you book; two cars of the same model can have different rules.
Bring your original national licence, in Latin script and valid until the last rental day. Digital versions and photocopies are not accepted.
If your licence is only valid at home, an International Driving Permit is strongly advised. The car still sets the minimum age and experience.
Some airport cars allow drivers under twenty-five, with minimum ages from eighteen to twenty-one and one to three years’ driving experience. Check your car’s rules before you book; similar cars can set different driver rules.
Some mountain routes are banned, so plan detours with care.
Keep right, use dipped headlights on motorways and roads between towns, and check the car has a first-aid kit and warning triangle before you leave.
From Tirana Airport to Muriqan-Sukobin is 90.8 km, about two hours plus any border queue. Tell the company first so it can arrange permission and papers.
Permission and cover depend on the country and the car. A cross-border extra covers only the countries it names and never lets you return the car abroad, so agree every country on your route before you book.
Cancel at least seven days before pickup, or thirty days for convertibles and luxury cars. With the cancellation option, it is 24 hours before.
Email to cancel and attach your voucher. Allow fourteen days for the refund, usually to the account you paid from; 6% of the advance is kept for payment fees.
You lose the advance for late changes or cancellation, or a missed pickup you did not warn about. To change a booking, cancel it and book again.
No. The minimum is 24 hours, even for a few hours. Pick up one morning and return the next afternoon, and you pay for two days. Match the rental to both flights.
Ask the company before your original return time. A new flight does not extend the rental on its own.
If a breakdown or force majeure stops the company supplying your car, it must give you one of the same class or better, at the same price and terms.
Yes, if it is small and stays in its travel carrier for the whole drive, even a short one from Tirana Airport.
Yes. You or the company can cancel within one day of confirmation and advance payment, before pickup. The payment-service fee is still deducted from the refund.
Choose Tirana Airport pickup and your return place, enter both times, and compare payment and cover before you book.
