Choose a Tirana vehicleEach tile is the middle day rate of its class, so most cars cost more than the cheapest weeks above. The figures include airport and city cars; open a car to see its pickup place and full price.
Yes: choose delivery to a hotel, flat or office, or pick up at a rental office. Airport pickup after your flight is a separate choice.
Enter your full Tirana address and confirm the time. Some cars have free delivery; otherwise it is in the price.
Pick up from the company’s office in Tirana. Your voucher gives the address and contact details.
Give the full street address, not just the hotel name. An airport booking does not include hotel delivery.
From the airport pickup to Skanderbeg Square is 20.4 kilometres and the drive back 17.7 kilometres, both about 25 minutes. Search with your real times to see any out-of-hours charge, and keep your phone on from the day before pickup.
Tirana delivery and office cars need no credit card. Some delivered cars have no deposit; office pickup takes a cash deposit.
Keep the two payments distinct. The balance pays for the car; the deposit is refundable. A cash deposit does not mean you can pay the balance in cash. Your car shows how to pay each.
Check airport conditions separately. Some Tirana Airport cars need a credit card, even though city cars do not. Changing the pickup place can change what card you need.
You pay 15 to 20% when you book and the rest to the company at handover. Any deposit is separate; a car with no deposit still has the balance to pay.
If an airport car needs a credit card, the main driver brings their own physical embossed card. A debit card works only if the booking and voucher allow it, and it must be embossed too.
For a car with no deposit, choose one whose deposit line says so; the no-credit-card filter can include cars with a deposit.
These drives start at Skanderbeg Square in light traffic. Add time for your pickup, stops, roadworks and summer queues.

The Durrës time ends at the seafront road. If you come back the same evening, allow for both ways and for city traffic.
Closer options are Elbasan, about 45 minutes and 40.9 kilometres via the A3, and Krujë castle, about 50 minutes and 38.5 kilometres. Do not carry on into Qafë-Shtamë; that road is banned.
Sarandë and Ksamil take much of the day. Heading south for good? A one-way return saves driving back, but book it; a drive time does not mean a drop-off is offered.
Street parking is split into zones A, B and C. There is also an underground car park under Skanderbeg Square, handy for visiting the square.
You get an SMS reminder ten minutes before your time runs out; it does not extend it. Overstaying can mean a fine. Parking costs and fines are yours to pay.
With a foreign SIM, check the payment has gone through before you walk away, and have a backup plan if it fails. Use your rental’s actual registration, not the car pictured when you booked.
The underground car park at Skanderbeg Square is open around the clock, with its own prices and a penalty for a lost ticket; weekend street rules do not apply there. Current charges are on Tirana’s parking site.
The SH2 towards Durrës, the A1 north and the A3 towards Elbasan lead out of Tirana. Roadworks and diversions in town can slow the start.
Widening work on the Tirana to Durrës motorway can mean night closures. Follow the signed diversion.
Demonstrations in central Tirana can cause diversions. If your pickup or route goes through the centre, allow extra time.
The bypass linking the Durrës and Elbasan motorways is not finished yet. Do not plan your return around it.
Driving north to Shkodër is fine, but mountain tracks are not. All rental cars must stay on paved public roads, whatever their ground clearance.
Keep the company’s number handy on the way to pickup in case your meeting street is affected by closures.
Rental cars are banned at Lake Koman, Korab Mountain, Tomorri Mountain and Lura national parks and Qafë-Shtamë Nature Park, including the road via Lake Bovilla and the Krujë to Burreli road.
Also banned: Berat to Përmet through Osumi Canyon and SH74, Memaliaj to Berat through Martallozi, Thethi to Valbona and unpaved beach tracks. No insurance covers these routes, even in an SUV.
Some rentals start in Tirana and end in Sarandë or Himarë. You can start with city delivery or Tirana Airport pickup.

Car hire in Sarandë →

Choose Himarë as your return place when you search.
Choose your final town, then compare the full one-way price.
Sarandë returns can be by delivery, at an office or at the Port of Saranda, depending on the car. Himarë uses city delivery. Confirm the address and time; you cannot hand the car back abroad.
Seven-day Tirana rentals from mid-month, November 2026 to October 2027. N/A means no price was available.
Daily prices for weekly rentals, city and airport. Your dates and car set the final price.
Use the chart to compare months, then price the pickup you need. Cover, extras and the return town all change the price.
N/A does not mean free, and it does not mean you cannot rent then. Check your own dates, especially when booking far ahead.
You pay in 24-hour periods, so part of a day is a full day. Pick up one morning and return the next afternoon, and you pay for two days.
City delivery and office pickup offer manual and automatic cars. For a family, compare the gearbox and seat count, not just the model name.
Choose your gearbox on the offer. Manuals are usually cheaper, but your car and dates set the price.
Some city cars seat seven to nine. Add child seats and an extra driver where needed, and check that car’s rules.
Check there is room for luggage with every seat in use. The seat count does not tell you the boot space.
Extras and their prices depend on the car. Check child seats and extra drivers again if you change car.
Minimum cover (TPL) comes with every booking. Higher levels cover damage to the car and depend on the car you choose.
Not covered. Wheels, underside, windscreen and interior damage are excluded. Neglect, vandalism and banned roads, such as the Lake Bovilla road to Qafë-Shtamë, cancel your cover.
Full Coverage Plus. Some Tirana cars offer it, priced per car. Within its exclusions, you pay nothing for accident damage.
Deposit and excess. On some cars the deposit stays at lower levels and goes with Plus. Other cars differ; deposit and excess are separate.
After an accident. Call the company straight away and get a police report unless it says otherwise. If you skip this, your cover is cancelled.
Full Coverage may keep the Basic excess or lower it; check the figures on your car.
Bring your original national licence, in Latin script and valid until you return the car. Digital licences and copies are not accepted.
If your licence is only valid at home, an International Driving Permit is strongly advised. Bring it with your licence.
Check the car’s minimum age and experience before paying. If you do not qualify, pickup can be refused.
Keep your voucher with the licence and documents you need for driving in Albania, so the pickup address and contact are at hand.
Follow signed limits and priorities. At junctions with no signs, give way to traffic from the right; in towns, only use the horn for danger.
You pay for fuel, tolls and any fines, and Albania’s speed limits and required kit apply.
From Skanderbeg Square to Muriqan-Sukobin is 107 kilometres, about two hours and fifteen minutes plus the border queue. You still need permission to cross.
Some Tirana cars offer a Montenegro trip as an extra. Tell the company before you go so it can prepare the papers. Each border package covers only the countries it names, and none lets you return the car abroad.
Cancel at least seven days before pickup, or thirty days for convertibles and luxury cars. With the cancellation option, it is 24 hours before.
Email support with your voucher to cancel. Refunds usually reach the account you paid from within fourteen days, minus 6% for payment fees.
You lose the advance for late changes or cancellation, or a missed pickup you did not warn about. To change a booking, cancel it and book again.
No. Some cars have a daily kilometre limit and some do not. For a long trip south, check the car before you book.
Yes, if it is small and stays in a carrier for the whole trip. Large or loose pets are not allowed.
Ask your rental company before your return time. Do not just keep the car another day.
If a breakdown or force majeure stops the company supplying your car, it must give you one of the same class or better, at the same price and terms.
Yes. Either side can cancel within 24 hours of confirmation and advance payment, with notice before handover. The payment-service fee is still deducted.
Choose delivery, office or airport pickup, then compare payment and cover. Add your return town and extras when you book.
