Match the vehicle to your capital-city plans

Many of these cars are also offered in Dubai. The pickup place you choose sets the price, so compare totals for that place.

Check the gearbox, seats and luggage space on the actual offer. A car marked similar can arrive as another model of the same kind.

Check the kilometre allowance against your plans, especially for repeat Abu Dhabi to Dubai trips, and make sure your bags fit.

Where can I collect after landing in Abu Dhabi?

Pick up at Zayed International Airport or choose delivery to an Abu Dhabi address. Price the one you plan to book.

Airport pickup

Choose Zayed International Airport and follow your company’s meeting instructions. Meeting points differ between companies, so keep its contact handy.

Delivered to you

Give your full Abu Dhabi address and agree the entrance and meeting spot with the company, not your hotel.

Abu Dhabi or Dubai

Abu Dhabi cars also appear in the Dubai search. Compare full totals, as airport and delivery prices can differ.

Abu Dhabi Mall is in the place list, but only some cars offer it. Use it only when your booking confirms it.

Give accurate flight and address details. Agree any change before the original pickup time, especially if the car comes from another city.

What should I check before paying?

Prices here are in euros. Check the payment methods on your chosen car, including how any deposit must be paid.

Deposit and balance differ. A car that needs no credit card can still set rules for paying the balance or deposit. Read both before you travel; the badge does not mean cash.

Pay 15 to 20% of the rent online to book, then pay the rest to the company at pickup. The quote shows the split.

If a credit card is required, the main driver brings their own embossed physical card. Debit works only if accepted, and must also be embossed, physical and in their name; nobody else’s card will do.

The deposit comes back 30 days after you return the car. Tolls, fines and admin costs can be taken from it; on a no-deposit booking, ask how later charges are collected.

These drives start at Dubai International (DXB). Use them to compare arriving in Dubai with pickup in Abu Dhabi; add time for traffic and stops.

From Al Maktoum Airport (DWC), the Grand Mosque is 102.8 kilometres, about seventy-five minutes, and the Corniche 118.5 kilometres, about ninety minutes on clear roads.

To finish at Zayed International, the drive from Dubai International Airport is about 128 km; allow about 1 h 45 min. From Al Maktoum Airport it is 97.1 kilometres, about seventy-five minutes. Check your car allows an airport return.

A round trip from Dubai International to the mosque is about 283 kilometres before detours, so check the car’s allowance and any extra-kilometre charge. These times leave out traffic and toll gates.

Parking colours, Darb gates and rental charges

Abu Dhabi Premium parking bays are turquoise with white markings; Standard bays are turquoise with black. Check the signs where you park.

  • Resident-only bays are for permit holders. Paying for public parking does not let you use them.
  • Darb tolls are read from your number plate. Ask the company how it passes on tolls and admin costs, even with no deposit.

Check parking hours, maximum stays and payment options on the Mawaqif information page and the local signs. Public spaces near your hotel are not part of your stay.

Darb toll gates are on the Mussafah, Al Maqtaa, Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bridges. Charging hours vary; see the Darb fee information. Trips to Dubai can also pass Salik tolls.

Fuel, tolls, parking and fines are yours to pay. Keep the company’s charging instructions with your voucher, so you can tell a parking payment from a later rental bill.

Plan paved-road journeys within the allowance

Drive on paved public roads only. An SUV or top cover does not allow dunes, unpaved tracks or other banned areas.

Check the final approach

A route can follow main roads almost all the way, then end on a dirt track. Check the last stretch to an unfamiliar place before turning off.

Read the kilometre terms

Each quote shows its kilometre allowance and the charge for going over. Compare it with your trips between emirates. An automatic or a car class does not mean unlimited kilometres.

Plan the way back

Keep the return trip on permitted roads too. Your sat nav does not change the hire terms; book any off-road trip separately from this rental.

Fuel on return

Note the fuel level at pickup and return the car with the same. Missing fuel is charged at the company’s rate; extra fuel is not refunded.

If dirt stops the condition check, you pay for washing. Build the inspection into your return time.

Confirm the return

Agree an Abu Dhabi return with the company before changing plans.

Starting with a Dubai car rental suits a two-city trip ending at Zayed International Airport. Compare it with pickup in Abu Dhabi.

Some cars collected at Zayed International can go back at Dubai International. Your car’s offered return places decide where you can drop it off.

Contact the company before changing the return, keep the new time with your booking and leave time for the inspection.

How should I read the monthly price chart?

Each bar is a seven-day Abu Dhabi rental in that month, with handover costs included. It is a guide, not a fixed monthly price.

Daily euro prices for seven-day rentals starting on each month’s 15th. N/A means there is no price for that month yet; it is never a free rental.

The chart runs from November 2026 to October 2027. Prices and the cars on offer for your dates can differ, so search your exact dates before choosing.

Car rental at Abu Dhabi Airport and delivery can price differently in the same month. Compare full totals for the same rental length.

Room for passengers and their bags

Some offers have seven or eight seats. Check the layout and luggage space; more seats do not mean every suitcase fits.

    A full group at pickup

Count passengers and bags before choosing a car. Pick a meeting point where the named driver can sign and take the car.

The listed model or a similar car

Check the seats and whether the model is guaranteed or may be swapped. Confirm must-have features with the company, not from the photo.

    The named driver

Plan pickup around your group’s arrival. The named driver brings the required documents and payment; a companion cannot take that on.

    Automatic or manual

Check the gearbox on each offer before booking. Automatics depend on dates and availability; confirm key features in the car’s details.

Plan the return as carefully as pickup. Leave time to unload, check the fuel and finish the company’s inspection, on top of the drive to the airport or the agreed address.

Understand the insurance offered in Abu Dhabi

Third-party cover is the base level. Extra damage cover varies by car, so compare it with the deposit; one does not replace the other.

    Minimum coverageIncluded as standard
    • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
    • Damage to your hire car (not included)
    Basic coverage
    • Limited collision cover (CDW) (included)
    • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
    • Glass and tyre damage (not included)
    Full Coverage
    • Limited driver liability (Super CDW) (included)
    • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
    Full Coverage Plus
    • Full damage cover (included)
    • No driver liability for accident damage (included)

Check what is excluded. Standard insurance excludes windscreen, wheels, interior and underbody. Basic CDW also leaves glass and tyres uncovered; check your chosen level.

Deposit is not excess. The deposit and your share of a covered claim are separate amounts. A no-deposit booking does not mean all damage costs are waived.

Report incidents. Tell the company straight away and get a police report unless it agrees otherwise. Skipping these steps voids the insurance.

Keep the cover valid. Deliberate damage and neglect void cover. Extra protection does not allow border crossings or roads the agreement bans.

Basic is CDW and Full is Super CDW; Plus, where offered, removes your liability for accident damage. Compare deposit and excess in the car’s terms and the UAE conditions.

    Prepare both driving documents

    Licence at pickup

Bring your original national licence and an International Driving Permit. Both must stay valid until the last day of the rental.

    Originals, age and experience

Electronic and photocopied licences are not accepted. Age and experience limits vary by car, so check your chosen offer.

Pack the card required for the main driver with your driving documents.

    Rental timing and contact details

    Rental period

    • The shortest hire is 24 hours, even if you only need the car for a few. Enter your real pickup and return times when you search.

    Extending your hire

    • A morning pickup and a return the next afternoon counts as two days. Ask for extra time while the hire is still running.

Give a phone number with its international code and keep it working from the day before pickup until the hire ends.

Keep this vehicle inside the UAE

This car cannot leave the UAE. A trip between emirates does not cover Oman; arrange that part separately.

Return the car at its agreed UAE drop-off before travelling on another way. A bigger car or extra cover does not let you take it abroad.

Cancellation deadlines depend on the booking

    Notice and conditions

Standard cars need 7 days’ notice to cancel; convertibles and luxury cars need 30. With the cancellation option, you can cancel until 24 hours before. A processing fee still applies.

    Refund and booking changes

Email support with your voucher to cancel. Refunds arrive within 14 days, minus 6% of the advance. Late notice or a missed pickup without warning loses the advance.

To change dates or car, cancel and book again; the cancellation deadline still applies to the old booking.

More questions about an Abu Dhabi rental

Are Abu Dhabi rental cars also offered in Dubai?

Yes, many are, and they are brought to your Abu Dhabi meeting point. Compare the full quote for your chosen place, including handover charges. That quote also shows the car’s deposit and credit card terms.

Can I rent a car at Abu Dhabi airport without a deposit?

Yes, some cars have no deposit, including at the airport. Check the car for your dates and its payment and insurance terms. You still pay tolls and other charges.

Can I leave the vehicle at any convenient car park?

No. Use only the return confirmed by the company. A public car park near your destination is not an agreed drop-off; contact the company if plans change.

Can I bring a pet in an Abu Dhabi hire car?

Yes, a small pet in a carrier for every drive. Normal cleaning and damage rules apply, and the car must come back clean enough to inspect.

What happens if the reserved vehicle cannot be supplied?

If a fault or force majeure stops supply, you get a car of the same or a higher class at the same price and terms. Use the company contact in your confirmation.
