Compare Malaga choicesThe smallest examples seat four and the others seat five, with one automatic among them. Check luggage space separately.
Some Malaga cars guarantee the model and some do not. Check that, and any daily mileage limit, before a longer trip in Andalusia.
Your voucher names the company, the meeting point at the airport and the company’s phone number. Meeting points differ between companies.
After landing, follow the meeting directions on your voucher, and call the company if you cannot find it.
Enter your real times. If your flight changes, ask the company to confirm the new pickup time.
Keep your phone on, with the country code, from the day before pickup until return.
These examples start at the airport. Some Malaga cars can instead be delivered to an address, with any delivery charge in the price.
Check the car’s condition, fuel and extras with the company’s staff, and keep their contact for changes or incidents.
Some cars accept debit cards and some have no deposit, but these are separate. Check how the deposit, balance and refund work on your car.
Any required card must be physical, embossed and in the main driver’s name. Paying the rental in cash does not mean a cash deposit, and no deposit does not mean no liability.
You pay 15 to 20% online to book and the balance to the company. Any airport service charge is already in the quoted total.
Times start at Malaga Airport on clear roads. Allow extra for stops, traffic and parking; some routes can use a toll motorway.

Granada times run to the Alhambra; the coast and Ronda to the town, not your hotel. Marbella can involve AP-7 tolls and Granada AP-46 tolls.
Malaga’s low-emission zone uses number-plate cameras. Check your car’s environmental label and the rules for your dates before driving in.
Drive on the right and keep to posted limits. Set your route before you start, and find the emergency kit before leaving pickup.
Motorways are normally 120 km/h and ordinary roads 90. In towns: 20 on shared streets, 30 with one lane each way, 50 on wider roads. Posted limits come first.
Leave a roundabout from the outer right-hand lane unless markings say otherwise. If you cannot reach it safely, go round again rather than cutting across.
From 2026, Spanish-registered cars carry a connected V-16 light instead of triangles. Find it and the reflective vest at pickup. It does not call for help.
Do not hold a phone or wear earpieces while driving. Alcohol limits are 0.25 mg/l in breath and 0.5 g/l in blood, lower in your first two licence years.
In an emergency call 112. Wear a high-visibility vest on the carriageway or shoulder outside towns. Get out away from traffic only if there is a safe place; otherwise stay inside, belted.
Children 135 centimetres or shorter need belts and suitable restraints, normally in the back. Use lights in poor visibility; there is no general daytime headlight rule.
Some Malaga cars can be returned in these cities. Choose the return place before booking, then compare the full price including any one-way cost.
Choose Seville Airport when you book; changing the city later needs the company’s agreement.
Check whether the Madrid return is at Barajas Airport or Atocha station.
Compare the full price for an Alicante Airport return, with any cost built into the rent.
Permission to visit Portugal is not permission to return there. Plan to return the car in Spain.
The Seville option is an airport return. If you spend time in the city first, car hire in Seville also offers delivery to an address, with a delivery charge in the price.
Each month shows cars quoted for a week’s hire at Malaga Airport. Enter your own dates and extras for the final price.
Airport prices for a week’s hire in each month.
Each extra part-day adds another day’s charge. Compare the full length of hire and the kilometre allowance for inland trips.
Choose seats and extras before booking. Larger cars are available, but check luggage space with every seat filled.
Check both seats and boot space. Ask how your cases fit with every seat taken for the airport drive.
Order a seat that suits your child’s size. At pickup, check it fits and is installed properly before you leave the airport.
Malaga can offer seven, eight or nine seats, depending on availability. Compare the seating and luggage space for your dates.
Add a second driver to your booking and check they qualify. A licensed passenger cannot just take the wheel.
The deposit is not your accident excess. Check both after choosing cover, plus what is covered and how to report an incident.
Cover choices: Each car sets its own cover levels and how they change the deposit or excess. Check the car you are booking.
Not covered: Standard cover excludes wheels, interior, windscreen and underbody. Check what an upgrade adds.
Reporting an incident: Tell the company straight away. Get a police report too unless the company agrees otherwise; if you skip this, the cover is void and you pay.
What voids cover: Neglect and deliberate vandalism void the insurance. Extra cover does not change how you may use the car.
Bring your original national licence with Latin-script details, valid until return; no copies or digital licences. Bring ID and any permit you need.
An IDP is strongly recommended if your licence is valid only at home. Non-EU and non-EEA licence holders need ID with the permit.
Check every driver against this car’s age and licence-experience limits before paying. Similar models can differ, and the company can refuse the handover.
Plan the return with time to check the car and catch your flight. If plans change, agree an extension with the company first.
Arrange any extension in advance. Only small pets may travel, inside a carrier whenever the car is moving.
Some Malaga cars offer a Portugal extra. Add it and tell the company before you go, so it can prepare the papers.
A Portugal extra does not cover Gibraltar, Morocco or a return abroad. Agree the country, route and return point with the company.
Check the cancellation deadline first. To change the car or dates, cancel and book again; ask the company about extending a rental in progress.
Cancel standard cars 7 days ahead, luxury cars and convertibles 30 days, or 24 hours with the cancellation option, counted from your pickup time. Late cancellations and unagreed no-shows lose the advance.
Email support with your voucher to cancel. Eligible refunds arrive within 14 days of your request, minus 6% for payment processing.
No. Rent and deposit can need different payment methods, and any required card must be physical and in the main driver’s name.
No. Permission to enter Portugal does not include leaving the car there. A Faro return needs a confirmed offer and the company’s approval.
No. Check your car’s environmental label against the council’s rules for your dates; a model photo does not prove it qualifies.
No. The connected V-16 shares the car’s position, but you still need to call 112 for help.
Yes. The examples above include an automatic Volkswagen Polo; choose the gearbox in the search results and compare the price with a manual.
Set your dates and return place, check the card and driver rules, then choose the right car for your Costa del Sol trip.
