The rental conditions are set for the whole of Morocco; deposits and cover still differ from car to car.
Choose the airport, the city port, the railway station, another handover point or your own address as the starting point.
The airport is about 25 minutes from the city centre. Most cars there add a handover charge to the price, though a few have none.
Some companies hand over at Port Tangier Ville or Tangier Ville station. These handovers carry a charge, shown in the price before you book.
Most offers are delivered: type your hotel or riad address when booking. A few cars list another handover point, given on the voucher.
Whichever point you choose, your voucher names the meeting place and the company’s phone number. Keep your own booking phone reachable from the day before pickup.
Landing there? Car rental at Tangier Airport has the airport handover priced into each total.
Not one of the Tangier cars on offer asks for one. Each offer still shows its own rule, so check yours before paying.
What you pay at pickup and how you pay the deposit are listed separately on each car. A zero deposit can still come with card-only payment for the balance.
Most cars in the other Moroccan cities need no credit card either.
If keeping your card free matters most, choose a car with no deposit.
Chefchaouen is about two hours from Tangier on the RN2, before stops. The cards below are longer trips south; nearer towns are listed under them.

Closer to Tangier: Asilah, about 1 h 15 min; Tetouan, about 60 min.
Fez is a long day inland, almost five hours, so for a longer stay there, renting in Fez saves the drive.
The A5 motorway runs south towards Rabat and Casablanca, and it is tolled. Tetouan and Chefchaouen are reached on ordinary national roads.
Fuel, parking, tolls and any fines are paid by you, not the rental company.
Your rental is allowed on paved public roads and nothing else. Unmade tracks, in the hills or along the coast, are excluded.
UK travel advice says poor lighting can make night driving dangerous and mountain roads hazardous in bad weather. Keep the Chefchaouen drive for daylight.
UK travel advice gives 190 for police and 150 for ambulance and fire. On the motorway, ADM’s breakdown centre answers on 5050 at any hour.
After an accident covered by the insurance, alert the company immediately and get a police report, unless the company says not to. Skipping one can void the cover.
Yes, and Fez too. Choose the return city first; every one-way here carries an extra charge, already in the price.

If plans change during the trip, agree the new return with the company first. A new return place is priced again.
Crossing any border is not allowed, and no cross-border option exists.
Port pickup is only a handover point: a Tangier rental cannot board a ferry to Spain, and one-way returns to Spain are not offered.
The chart shows a typical daily price for each month, using seven-day hires that begin on the 15th.
Tangier week-long rentals beginning on the 15th, from November 2026 to October 2027; N/A means nothing priced yet.
Only a small choice of cars carries prices for the summer, so treat those months as a rough pointer and look at your own dates.
Charges run in full days of 24 hours. Returning a few hours late adds a whole day.
More Tangier cars are automatic than manual. The gearbox is stated on each offer; a model name alone does not tell you which one you get.
A handful of seven- and eight-seat cars are offered. Check the seat count and luggage space on the car itself before choosing.
Infant, child and booster seats are listed as extras in Morocco; the offer shows which the car has. Check how it is fitted.
A second driver is listed as an extra too, priced on the offer where the car has it. They must meet the car’s own age and licence rules.
Tangier offers set out their cover tiers and the deposit tied to each; read them side by side.
Levels vary by car. Minimum, Basic, Full Coverage and Full Coverage Plus exist, but a given car may offer only some of them.
Standard exclusions. Wheels, undercarriage, windscreen and interior damage fall outside standard insurance.
Lost cover. Deliberate damage through vandalism or neglect makes the insurance invalid at any level.
Optional add-ons. Personal accident insurance and theft protection are listed as extras in Morocco.
Each level changes the car hire excess, the amount you would pay after damage.
Show the original licence, with your details in Latin script and valid until at least the return date. Digital licences and copies are not accepted.
A home-only licence should come with an IDP; UK travel advice says UK licence holders need the 1968 permit.
Age limits and the years of driving needed change from car to car, even on similar models, so read them before paying.
Bring your passport and voucher as well; the company asks for them when you sign.
Need more time? Agree it with the company before the booked return.
To change dates, cancel and make a new booking. The deadline depends on the car and the options you chose.
Everyday cars need a week’s notice, luxury cars and convertibles 30 days, and the short-notice option cuts it to a day. After the cut-off, or a missed handover in Tangier, the advance is not returned.
Cancel through customer support with the voucher attached. The advance comes back within two weeks to the account you paid from, less a 6% payment fee.
Yes, some companies hand over at Port Tangier Ville. There is a charge for it, shown in the price, and the voucher gives the exact meeting point.
Not all. Some Tangier cars carry a daily kilometre limit; it shows on the offer with the price of each extra kilometre.
It must find you another car, no lower in class, at the price and terms you booked.
You can, within a day of confirming and paying, provided pickup is still ahead; the advance is refunded less the payment fee.
Small ones, if they travel in a carrier.
Pick the airport, the port, the station or your address, then compare deposit, cover and the total before you reserve.
