Car classes for city traffic and motorway miles

A class price here is its cheapest car in the week used for the deals; the middle offer at the airport is about €55 a day.

Class prices assume pickup and return at Casablanca Airport, not delivery to a city address. Manual and automatic cars are both available.

All six cars above have five seats, and seven-seaters are offered too. Check the boot has room for your cases.

How do you find your car rental company at Casablanca Airport?

Look for the company and meeting point named on your voucher, along with its phone number.

Have the voucher ready

Store it offline before you fly. The meeting point, the company name and its phone number are all printed on it.

Stay contactable

From the day before pickup, keep your phone on and messaging apps open. Include the country code in the number you give.

Inspect before driving

Agree the condition record with the company, mark any damage and note the fuel before you head for the motorway.

Tell the company quickly if your flight into Casablanca is delayed.

  1. Traffic keeps right the basic rule of the road.
  2. Roundabouts: give way where the sign and line say so.
  3. Most carry that sign so cars on the ring go first.
Joining the motorway? The airport link to Casablanca is a toll road. Pay with cash, a bank card or a Jawaz tag if the car carries one.

  1. Choose the airport at both ends to see the handover charge in the total.
  2. Allow for city traffic on the way back to the airport.
  3. Ending in Marrakech or Rabat? Set that airport as the return.
Night flight? Hours in the middle of the night can add a charge on some cars. Search with your real times and it is included.

Can you rent a car at Casablanca Airport without a deposit?

None of the six cars above needs a credit card. One has no deposit at its starting cover, and the other five hold €300.

An advance of 15 to 20% is taken when you book, and the company is paid the rest at the airport, by the methods listed for that car.

When a credit card is required, bring the physical embossed card in the main driver’s name. Debit cards are accepted only if the voucher says so.

Driving tips after a Casablanca Airport pickup

Give yourself time to get used to the car before you meet city traffic.

Motorway speeds

ADM asks motorway drivers to keep between 80 and 120 km/h. NARSA, the road safety agency, gives 80 on most national roads and 20, 40 or 60 in towns.

Help on the motorway

For a breakdown or accident on the motorway, ADM’s call centre on 5050 answers day and night. Then tell the company.

Kit in the car

NARSA lists a yellow vest, a warning triangle and spare bulbs as kit to carry. Make sure they are on board at pickup.

Phones at the wheel

NARSA warns against handling a phone or a sat nav while driving. Set the route before you move off.

UK travel advice gives 190 for police and 150 for ambulance or fire. After damage, notify the company straight away and get a police report unless it agrees otherwise.

Paying for fuel, tolls, parking and fines falls to the renter.

Surfaced roads only

The same rule applies all over Morocco: paved public roads only, never gravel or dirt tracks.

Every car is limited to paved public roads by the Morocco rental terms. Plan detours around any unpaved stretch.

Inside Morocco only

A car from Casablanca cannot cross a border or board a ferry, whatever your onward plans are.

The rental terms forbid driving across the country’s borders, and no cross-border product is offered in Morocco.

Can you collect at Casablanca Airport and return at Rabat Airport?

Yes, many cars can end at Rabat Airport, and many at Marrakech Airport. Search with both airports to see the one-way total.

Set the return at Rabat Airport

Enter the airport as the drop-off, not Rabat city. Moving it later changes the price.

Check the handback point

Ask the company where to meet at the second airport, and leave time before check-in.

Any change needs approval

If plans shift, agree the new return with the company first. A different drop-off is priced again.

Rabat city centre is about 1 hour 30 minutes up the motorway, and Rabat Airport lies just beyond it in Salé.

Marrakech Airport is about 2 hours 45 minutes south on the A3.

Casablanca Airport prices by month

Bars show a typical day rate for a seven-day hire starting and ending at Casablanca Airport. Treat them as a guide.

N/A means no car was offered for that month.

Airport handover charges are already inside these figures. Your pickup time, extras and cover change the final price.

You pay for every started 24-hour day. Tell the company in advance if you want to keep the car longer.

Drivers, child seats and luggage for Casablanca

List every driver and child in the booking so the handover at Mohammed V is quick.

Extra drivers

Add each extra driver as an option in the booking and bring their licence. Everyone driving must meet the car’s age and experience rules.

Seats for children

Book a child seat for each child when you reserve the car. Check it is fitted properly before you leave.

Luggage space

The cars above have five seats; seven-seaters are offered too. Measure your bags against the boot, not just the seats.

Small pets

A small pet can come along if it stays in its carrier for the whole hire. Keep space free for the carrier.

What does car hire insurance cover at Casablanca Airport?

The Logan and Grand i10 above both include Basic and offer the top level. What sits in between is where they differ.

Minimum coverageIncluded as standard
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Damage to your hire car (not included)
Basic coverage
  • Limited collision cover (CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Glass and tyre damage (not included)
Full Coverage
  • Limited driver liability (Super CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
Full Coverage Plus
  • Full damage cover (included)
  • No driver liability for accident damage (included)

Basic included. The Logan and Grand i10 start with Basic (CDW), which covers damage to the car but leaves an excess.

A deposit on the Logan. It holds €300 at Basic; Full Coverage Plus takes it away.

Full does not lower the excess. On the Grand i10, Full Coverage keeps the same excess as Basic.

Plus on both. Each can move up to Full Coverage Plus, which removes the excess and any deposit.

Standard cover excludes wheels, undercarriage, windscreen and interior, and is void for deliberate damage through vandalism or neglect. Compare damage cover and excess level by level, since a dearer level does not always lower the excess.

Licences accepted at Casablanca Airport

Your original licence must be in Latin script and valid until the hire ends. Copies and digital licences will not do.

International permit

If your licence is valid only where it was issued, bring an IDP as well. UK travel advice says UK licence holders need the 1968 version.

Age and licence years

Each car sets its own minimum age and driving experience. All drivers must meet them on the day of pickup.

Bring your passport and the booking voucher to sign the agreement.

Returning your car at Casablanca Airport

Return the car with the fuel you started with and in a state that can be inspected.

Fuel on return

  • Top up to the pickup level. A shortfall costs the company’s fuel rate, and extra fuel is not refunded.

Condition check

  • If the car is too dirty to check, it is washed at your cost.

Allow for traffic and the inspection before your flight, and arrange any extension in advance.

Cancelling a Casablanca Airport car

For a new car or new dates, cancel and rebook.

Deadlines

Seven days’ notice for standard cars, thirty days for luxury cars and convertibles, or 24 hours where the booking has the short-notice cancellation option.

Refunds

Late cancellation or a missed pickup loses the advance. On-time cancellations are refunded less a 6% payment fee.

Casablanca Airport car rental questions

Are there automatic cars at Casablanca Airport?

Yes, automatic cars are offered here. Check the gearbox listed on the car you book, not the photo.

How long is the drive into Casablanca?

About 40 minutes to the Hassan II Mosque with clear roads, longer at busy times. The airport link road to the city is a tolled motorway.

Do I need a deposit for a car at Casablanca Airport?

Not always. Many cars have none at their starting cover; on the Logan above, Full Coverage Plus removes its deposit.

Can I collect a car after a late-night landing?

Some cars can be handed over in the small hours, sometimes at extra cost. Use your real arrival time when searching.

Can I drive the hire car to Spain?

No. Moroccan hire cars must stay in Morocco, so a ferry to Spain is ruled out.
