Rent a car in Morocco without a credit card

Pay by debit card or cash on the cars that allow it, with pickup at Marrakech, Agadir or Casablanca airport or delivery to your address.

Car hire deals without a credit card

Where can your journey begin?

Airport meetings and address delivery in Marrakech, Agadir and Casablanca. Bringing a car from another city may be charged in the total.

How will you pay the rental company?

Online reservation

You pay 15 to 20% online to book. The rest goes to the rental agent at pickup, as the car’s instructions say.

Cash or card

Some cars take cash for the balance; others only cards, even with no deposit. One car’s rules do not apply to another.

Debit conditions

Debit approval must be clear in voucher and booking. Then bring the real debit card, with the main driver’s embossed name; phone wallets fail.

Comparing quotations

Credit rules do not decide price. Compare the whole quote for the same trip and options, handover charges included; a low daily rate can mislead.

What security money should you prepare?

Cash deposits

Some bookings take a cash deposit, from small amounts to much larger ones. Check your car’s sum; not every company takes cash.

Deposit arrangements

Read deposit rules apart from balance rules; some cars take debit for it. Ask how the deposit is repaid, as there is no single timetable.

Insurance for Morocco car hire

Paying without credit does not pick your cover. Check the levels and the damage cost left on your car.

Minimum coverageIncluded as standard
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Damage to your hire car (not included)
Basic coverage
  • Limited collision cover (CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Glass and tyre damage (not included)
Full Coverage
  • Limited driver liability (Super CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
Full Coverage Plus
  • Full damage cover (included)
  • No driver liability for accident damage (included)
  • In Morocco, Basic CDW caps your covered collision cost. Wheels, windscreen, interior and underbody are left out; see what an upgrade adds.
  • Full Coverage gives Super CDW with a limited driver share, lower than Basic or the same. The excess is your damage share; the deposit protects the rental.
  • Where offered, Full Coverage Plus ends your accident-damage share at a price per car. On some Marrakech and Agadir cars it drops the deposit; some cars lack it.
  • Only a few cars for car hire in Fez ask for a credit card, and most hold no deposit, so check the payment lines and cover on the car you pick.
  • Vandalism and neglect make the insurance void. Drive only on public paved roads and stay inside Morocco; extra cover does not change either rule.
Reporting an incident

Tell the rental company straight away after an insured event, and arrange a police report unless you agree another way. If you skip either, the insurance goes and you pay all damage.

Which airport vehicles require credit?

Credit-only bookings

At Marrakech, Agadir and Casablanca airports, some cars want credit as security and card payment for the rest. One model can vary.

Bringing the card

A credit rental in Morocco calls for an embossed credit card owned by the main driver, shown in person, even after paying online.

How to narrow your Morocco search

  1. Enter your journey

Set the pickup point, return place and both times. Driver age and licence history must meet the car’s requirements.

  2. Choose the filter

Choose No credit card under payment filters to remove credit cars. Open a result to see its extras and finish booking.

  3. Save the confirmation

Hold on to the confirmation; it lists the company’s contacts. Send them pickup, car or service questions before you travel.

Payment eligibility versus security amounts

No credit requirement

This covers how you pay, not what is held. A car taking other payments can still want a deposit, so match it to your money.

Nothing held

Zero deposit concerns money held; you still pay the hire. It does not promise cash or end card rules.

Questions about preparing for collection

Which licence do I need to rent a car in Morocco with a debit card?

The original licence from your country, in Latin script, valid for every booked date; electronic versions and copies are refused. If it covers home driving alone, add an IDP, strongly advised. The same papers apply to car hire in Rabat, where a credit card is rarely asked for.

Is there an extra charge for a night pickup in Morocco?

Some Casablanca Airport hire cars, and some at Marrakech and Agadir, charge for a night handover, at pickup, return or both. The quote shows it before you book.

How much notice do I need to cancel a car rental in Morocco?

Seven days for ordinary bookings, thirty for luxury or convertibles, twenty-four hours with cancellation cover. A no-show without agreement, late change or late cancellation forfeits the advance. Refunds come within fourteen days of asking, less 6%.

Do cars without a credit card have unlimited mileage in Morocco?

Not always. Some cars have a daily kilometre allowance and some are unlimited. Check yours before a long drive; how you pay makes no difference. That matters on one-way car rental in Marrakech ending in Agadir, Casablanca or Essaouira.

Must I remain reachable before collecting in Morocco?

Yes. Give a number with the international code, reachable from a day before pickup to the last day of hire. If calls and messaging both fail, service complaints are not accepted.
