Car rental in Montenegro with no deposit

Montenegro car hire with zero deposit: airport handovers at Podgorica and Tivat or delivery on the coast, so more of your trip money stays free. Cover options vary per car.

No-deposit car hire deals

Choose where your journey begins

No-deposit cars also start in Bar, Herceg Novi and Ulcinj, with pickups at Portonovi, Doni Stoj and Ulcinj Post Office, by car.

Which hire payments remain?

Reservation advance

Up front online, Montenegro bookings take 15 to 20%. It counts towards the price and is not kept as a deposit.

Collection balance

At handover, Montenegro companies take what is still owed. Some delivered cars in Podgorica and Kotor want cash; others set their own methods.

Delivery charges

Airport or address handovers can add charges, already in the quote. They are not in the advance and are paid with the balance at pickup.

Night arrivals

Night handovers can carry a surcharge, and some cars are not available then. Price both times together to see who can do your schedule.

What does zero security mean?

Nothing set aside

With zero deposit the company keeps nothing at handover, leaving that sum free for whatever your Montenegro trip brings.

Compare the full bill

No deposit is not always dearer. Compare full hire costs for the same trip and extras; the deposit alone hides the cheaper car.

Montenegro car hire insurance options

Decide how much damage cost you can accept before choosing cover for the trip.

Minimum coverageIncluded as standard
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Damage to your hire car (not included)
Basic coverage
  • Limited collision cover (CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Glass and tyre damage (not included)
Full Coverage
  • Limited driver liability (Super CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
Full Coverage Plus
  • Full damage cover (included)
  • No driver liability for accident damage (included)
  • Basic CDW caps your share of insured collision damage. Interior, wheels, underside and windscreen sit outside standard cover. Full’s Super CDW may lower that share or keep it at Basic.
  • With Full Coverage Plus the driver pays nothing towards accident damage; price per car. On some Podgorica Airport cars it removes the deposit too; some Montenegro cars lack it.
  • Deposit and excess can share a figure but differ: one secures the agreement, one limits damage costs. Some delivered cars have zero deposit but still a CDW excess.
  • Neglect and intentional vandalism void the insurance. Montenegro allows rental cars on paved public roads only, and extra cover does not change that.
If an incident occurs

Inform the agent at once, then get police documents unless the agent agrees a different way. If not, the insurance is void and the full damage bill is yours.

Which alternatives still hold a deposit?

Collection exceptions

Tivat bus terminal, Big Fashion mall in Podgorica and Hotel Tre Canne in Budva hold a deposit. Towns with no-deposit cars have deposit cars too.

Lower security

A low deposit can still be above zero. Check how it is paid and when it is released before you rely on it.

Narrow your Montenegro choices

  1. Describe the trip

Set both places and the hire period, then the main driver’s age and licence experience. Each car’s own rules decide, even among similar models.

  2. Choose zero

Pick No deposit in the filters. Open a car and check the deposit again with the cover level you plan to buy.

  3. Save confirmation

Review the final booking and reserve. The confirmation names the company and gives contacts for car and pickup questions.

Payment eligibility is a separate choice

Security amount

Some Montenegro cars combine zero deposit with no credit card rule. That pairing does not mean every payment method is accepted.

Accepted methods

Cars without a credit rule may still hold a deposit. Where debit is listed, bring the main driver’s embossed card.

Practical questions before collection

Can I choose an automatic Montenegro rental with zero security?

Yes, both automatics and manuals come with zero deposit, including in Podgorica and Kotor. Check the gearbox and total on your car.

How are short bookings and extensions handled in Montenegro?

The shortest hire charged is one twenty-four-hour day, however little you use, and every extra day begun costs a full day. Before the rental ends, agree any extension with the agent.

What fuel and everyday costs apply to a Montenegro deposit-free car?

You pay fuel, tolls, parking and fines. Return the fuel level recorded at pickup; shortages are charged, surplus is not refunded. A wash is charged if dirt blocks the inspection.

May I bring a pet in a Montenegro car that holds no security?

Only small pets, kept in carriers whenever they ride. Zero deposit does not change this or allow larger animals.

When must my booking phone be reachable for Montenegro collection?

From the day before pickup to the end of the hire, on a number with the right international code. The company uses it to reach you by call or message about the handover.
