Find Thessaloniki carsTiles show the cheapest car in each class from a separate search of the same week as the deals, so a deal can be a little cheaper; a typical car here costs about €37 a day. The pickup place, cover and payment rules come with the car you choose.
Have a car delivered to your Thessaloniki address, or pick up at Thessaloniki Airport when you land. Choose the place when you search.
Give your full Thessaloniki address and the car comes to you. Any delivery fee is already in the price.
Pick up at Thessaloniki Airport (SKG) after your flight. Enter your arrival time and keep the company’s number handy.
Delivered cars come in manual and automatic, with no credit card needed. Allow time for the car check.
The airport is open 24 hours, but each rental company sets its own pickup hours. Enter your real pickup time to check the car is available.
Keep your booking phone, with its country code, working from the day before pickup until you return the car.
Delivered cars here need no credit card; airport cars vary. You can find no-deposit cars at the airport and with delivery.
Cash is car-specific. Some airport and delivered cars take a cash deposit. No credit card needed does not always mean cash is accepted, so check each car.
Bring the required card. Where a credit card is needed, bring the main driver’s own physical, embossed card. A debit card works only if the booking allows it, with the same rules.
Payment rules belong to each car, not to the address. Two cars delivered to the same hotel can take different deposit and payment methods, and the cars that need no credit card can still hold a deposit.
You pay 15 to 20% online to book and the rest when you pick up. The deposit is separate, and the booking and voucher show when it is released.
Settle any change of main driver or payment card with the company before you arrive.
These times start at the airport on clear roads, with no stops or queues. Leaving from a hotel, your time will differ.

For Halkidiki, Nea Moudania is about fifty minutes from the airport. Kallithea takes about seventy-five minutes and Pefkochori about ninety, both on Kassandra. Sarti, on Sithonia, and Ouranoupoli each take roughly two hours fifteen minutes.
Kassandra and Sithonia are separate peninsulas, so choose where you will stay before you plan the drive from the airport. Coming from the south? Athens car rental can end at Thessaloniki Airport on some cars, about 6 h 30 min by road.
The Thessaloniki time ends at the White Tower, not at your hotel or a parking space. On a flight day, leave extra time to return the car and reach the terminal.
You cannot park in the airport arrivals and departures zones, and the public car parks are not where the rental car goes back.
Fuel, tolls, parking and fines are yours to pay. When you return the car, go to the place the company gives you and leave time to reach the terminal.
The A2 Egnatia motorway runs east to west across northern Greece, and the motorway south leads to Athens. Budget for tolls.
Egnatia toll stations include Thessaloniki and Kavala. Pay by cash or card at the booth, or use an EgnatiaPass device if your car has one.
The drive from Thessaloniki Airport to Kalambaka uses the A2 and A3. Higher sections can get fog and winter weather, so check conditions and allow extra time.
Greek motorways accept electronic tags, but your car may not have one, so ask the company. Without a tag, use a staffed lane and pay by cash or card.
The drive to Athens crosses several motorways, including Aegean Motorway, Central Greece Motorway and Nea Odos. Each charges its own tolls, so keep a way to pay.
For help on the Egnatia motorway, call 1077. In fog, slow down and leave more space; in winter, check the latest road advice before heading into the higher sections.
In the city, obey traffic lights and bus lanes, and keep your phone out of your hand.
Athens and Kavala returns are available on some cars. Enter your drop-off place when you search so the price includes any one-way fee.

Choose Kavala as your return place when you search.
Start at Thessaloniki Airport or with city delivery; return at Athens Airport.
Kavala one-ways start with delivery to your Thessaloniki address and end at an address in Kavala; they do not start at Thessaloniki Airport. Changing the drop-off place can change the price and the cars on offer.
Return the car with the same fuel level. Missing fuel is charged, extra fuel is not refunded, and a car too dirty to inspect may get a washing charge.
Lowest daily prices for week-long hires from the 15th of each month, November 2026 to October 2027. October 2027 shows N/A.
Lowest daily prices in Thessaloniki. Your car, extras and pickup place set your actual price.
Delivery can cost more than airport pickup. Compare the full price on the same dates, and think about when you really need the car. Manual and automatic cars are available at both.
You pay by the full day, with 24 hours the minimum. Going over by a few hours adds another day, so enter your exact times.
Seven, eight and nine-seat cars are available at the airport and by delivery. Check there is room for bags as well as people.
A seat count is not a luggage allowance. Check how much fits with every seat in use, especially for a long drive to Athens.
Some cars offer child seats and an extra driver as add-ons. Check each car, as extras differ.
Book child seats before a hotel delivery so the car arrives with them. Child seats are compulsory in Greece; check them at handover.
Add any extra driver to the booking before you share the driving. They must meet the car’s age and licence rules.
Every booking includes Minimum cover (TPL). Compare the upgrades on your car and what you would still pay, not just the cover name.
What standard cover leaves out. Wheels, windscreen, interior and underside are not covered. Damage on purpose, through vandalism or neglect, is never covered at any level.
Full Coverage Plus on some cars. Thessaloniki offers this top level on some cars, unlike Corfu and Rhodes. Check the price and terms on your car.
A deposit can stay. On some cars the deposit is the same with Minimum and Basic cover. Compare the deposit and the accident excess separately.
After an accident. Tell the company straight away and get a police report unless it agrees otherwise. Skip this and the cover is void; you pay the full loss.
Some cars offer Theft Protection as a separate extra. With Full Coverage, what you would still pay can match Basic or be lower, depending on the car.
Bring documents valid until you return the car, enter the driver’s real details, and check the car’s rules before you pay.
Bring your original licence, not a copy or digital one. An International Driving Permit is advised, and some companies may refuse the rental without it.
Age and licence rules differ by car. Some cars accept drivers aged twenty-one to seventy-five with at least a year holding a licence.
The Greek rental agreement sets the licence and permit rules for every car.
Greek road rules and your rental agreement both apply.
This car cannot leave Greece, so no trips to Albania, Bulgaria, Turkey or North Macedonia, and no one-way returns abroad.
Return the car in Greece as agreed and book a new rental across the border. Taking the car to or from an island needs customer support’s approval before you book; a sailing ticket alone is not enough.
Cancel at least seven days before pickup, or thirty days for luxury cars and convertibles. On cars with the cancellation option, you can cancel up to twenty-four hours before.
Email your cancellation with the booking voucher. Refunds go back to the account you paid from within fourteen days, less the 6% payment fee.
A late cancellation, a late change or a missed pickup you did not arrange loses the advance. To change dates, you cancel and book again.
There is no pickup at OSE Railway Station with these cars. Book delivery to an address nearby and confirm the spot with the company.
Not always. A few delivered cars allow 150 km a day, or 1,050 km a week, so check the mileage line on your car before long Halkidiki trips.
Yes, a small pet can travel if it stays in its carrier for every drive, including the first trip from handover to your accommodation.
If a breakdown or force majeure means your car is not available, the company must give you a car of the same or a better class, at the same price and terms.
Yes. In the first twenty-four hours after payment and confirmation, either side can cancel before pickup by telling the other. The processing deduction still applies.
Choose delivery or Thessaloniki Airport pickup, set your return place and check payment and cover before you book.
