Compare island carsKoh Samui and Samui Airport are separate searches, and some cars appear in both. Compare airport pickup and island delivery on the same dates, then check the model, gearbox, seats and any “or similar” condition. The Standard, Premium and Convertible prices each come from one car with a large delivery charge built in.
If you are flying in, choose Samui Airport. For delivery, choose Koh Samui and enter your hotel or villa address.
Choose Samui Airport and follow the directions on your voucher. How you meet the company can vary by car.
Give the full address, not just the villa name, and check with the company that it can reach your entrance.
Save the voucher and company phone number. If your flight, address or time changes, ask for new meeting details.
Car rental at Samui Airport is its own location in the search. The airport cards already select it; use the main island search for delivery. Check the pickup and return places together before you pay.
The airport is at Bo Phut. Use the directions on your booking to find the company, and ask if anything is unclear before you leave arrivals.
The same car can show a different total, deposit or availability at the airport and for villa delivery, so compare both for your dates.
Samui cars need no credit card but still take a deposit. Check how the deposit is paid separately from the rental balance.
No credit card is not no deposit. Island cars still take a deposit. Pick a car whose deposit method suits the driver, and keep that money apart from the rental balance.
Check how to pay. Some island cars take a cash deposit, but that does not mean cash works for every other charge. Your car’s conditions and voucher show what applies.
You pay 15 to 20% when booking and the rest at pickup. A required credit card must be embossed, in the main driver’s name and brought in person. Debit only works if the booking and voucher say so. Check which currency the company accepts.
Times start near Samui Airport on clear roads. Add time for traffic, rain, pickup and the last stretch to where you are going.

Big Buddha is Wat Phra Yai; Wat Plai Laem is a different temple. Wat Ratchathammaram is also called Wat Sila Ngu. Laem Sor Pagoda is on the south coast.
Fuel, parking, fines and road charges are yours to pay. The delivery price covers bringing the car, not parking or every access track.
Check parking and access at each stop. Planning to carry on to the mainland? Ask the company about ferry permission and charges first.
Island driving follows the Thai rental agreement. Stay on allowed roads, and agree any trip off the island with the company first.
Samui’s rainy season runs from November to March, unlike most of Thailand, where it is May to October. Do not plan by Phuket’s season.
The rental only covers paved public roads. Check how the last stretch reaches a villa or beach; a bigger car or extra cover does not change this.
Some offers have a daily mileage cap, even on an island. Add up your trips and the drive to the return before you book.
Need the car longer? Get the company’s approval before the booked return. Bad weather or a later flight does not extend the rental.
Check the weather before long drives. Give a working phone number with its international code for the rental days and the day before.
Some Phuket offers can end on Koh Samui, with pickup and return charges in the price. Agree the ferry part with the company.

Car hire in Koh Samui →
Confirm Samui permission and the ferry with the company before you book.
Pick the exact island return place and agree any later change.
Leaving the province needs agreement when you book; each company sets its own conditions and fees. The ferry needs separate approval, and the road times include no sailing. Or rent a new car at Samui Airport or on the island.
The chart shows island pickup prices for week-long rentals starting on the 15th, delivery charge included. A Samui Airport search can show other cars and totals.
N/A shows a month with no price found; it is not a free rental.
These prices use Koh Samui pickup. Search Samui Airport separately; the pickup choice can change the price too. Many island cars carry a large delivery charge spread over the week, which lifts the typical price; cars without one cost far less, like most of the examples above.
Samui has automatics and cars with seven or more seats. Check the actual car before booking for a family or group.
Check the passenger count on the car you pick. The photo or category alone does not confirm every cabin detail.
Ask for child seats, boosters or baby seats with the car, and check them at pickup before you drive off.
Add a second driver through the booking option and check their documents. A passenger may not drive unless added.
Tell the company how many bags you have, and check they fit with every seat in use before the airport or villa meeting.
Compare the cover offered on your car with its deposit and excess. Some cars offer fewer levels than the four explained below.
What cover leaves out. Standard cover excludes wheels, windscreen, interior and underside. Basic CDW also leaves out glass and tyres, so read your policy before relying on it.
Report damage straight away. Tell the company and get a police report unless it agrees otherwise. Skip these steps and the insurance is void, so you pay for all damage.
Stay within the rules. Damage from neglect or vandalism is not covered. Extra cover does not allow banned road surfaces, an unapproved ferry crossing or driving abroad.
Full Coverage Plus. Some Samui cars offer this top level. Check whether yours does and read its conditions, as cover differs between cars.
The deposit is not the same as the damage excess, and a low deposit does not cap what you might owe. Keep the company’s instructions for an incident with your rental cover details.
Bring your original national licence and an IDP, both valid for the whole rental. Copies and digital versions are not accepted.
Bring your original licence and IDP together; this applies on Samui too. A photo on your phone does not count.
Check the driver’s age and licence history against the car you pick, as similar cars differ. Bring any required card as your booking states.
The company may turn away drivers who miss its age or experience rules. Use the driver filters to match the Thai driver rules.
Every day is charged as a full 24 hours. Going even slightly over adds another full day.
Get an extension approved before the booked return. A longer hotel stay or a later flight does not change the rental.
The car must stay in Thailand.
That holds even with extra cover or a one-way booking, and the mainland needs the company’s agreement first.
Your deadline depends on the car type and whether you add the cancellation option. Refunds lose the payment-service charge.
Standard cars need seven days’ notice; convertibles and luxury cars need thirty. The cancellation option cuts this to 24 hours. Late changes or an unannounced missed pickup lose the advance.
Cancel by email with your voucher attached. Refunds arrive within 14 days, minus 6% for payment processing. To change dates, cancel and rebook within the notice period.
Some cars appear under both, but they are the same cars with different meeting places, not an extra fleet. Choose the airport or your address, then compare that quote.
No. A car can need no credit card and still take a deposit. Check how the deposit is paid, and how the balance is paid, before choosing.
No. They are clear-road times from near the airport. Add the pickup meeting, traffic, weather and the last stretch to your address. Your voucher says where pickup is.
Ask the company. An islands permission extra may not include the ferry fare or mean the ferry takes that car, so check both. Agree the whole trip first.
Yes, small pets are allowed in a travel carrier for the whole journey. The usual cleaning and damage rules still apply.
Choose island delivery or Samui Airport, then compare full prices, deposits and where you can drive for your dates.
