Prices include any handover charge at the airport. Each car shown takes a deposit, and none of them needs a credit card.

Airport pickup and returnThe island fleet is small, so some classes have few cars and a few are brought over from elsewhere with a large transfer charge. Compare the total, not the class average.
An island company brings the car to the spot named on your voucher. The rental desks listed by the airport belong to a separate service.
It names the handover spot and how to call the company. Screenshot both before the flight so they are on your phone when you land.
Leave your phone on from the day before collection. If the flight is held up, send the company a message straight away.
Point out scratches and dents, read the fuel gauge together and ask where the car goes back before you drive away.
A handover fee applies on some island cars and not on others, and the totals above contain it. Use your true landing time in the search so a late-hour fee is not missed.
Touring more of Thailand by air? Book a car at each airport you land at, with its own pickup and return.
A private airport with open-sided buildings, separate for domestic and international flights. Here is what is there and how to start your drive.
Yes, on the cars shown here, but every one of them takes a deposit. Check how the deposit and the balance can be paid.
An advance of 15 to 20% secures the booking; the remainder goes to the company when it hands over the keys. Each car sets its own accepted ways to pay.
Hiring again on the mainland? Look for cars in Thailand that need no credit card there too.
The rental price covers the car and its insurance, nothing else.
Drives from the airport are short, but take a few minutes to learn the car before heading for your hotel.
Thailand drives on the left. Take the first junctions slowly while you get used to the car and its mirrors.
Almost every car here comes with no daily kilometre limit, but the line under each car shows it, so check yours.
Stay on paved public roads, even if a sat nav offers a track down to a quiet beach or viewpoint.
Police can ask to see it. Carry it with your licence and permit whenever you drive.
In an emergency, call 191 for the police or 1669 for an ambulance.
Chaweng Beach is 4.6 kilometres away, about ten minutes on a clear road. Every time below starts at the airport and leaves out traffic and stops.

Also close to Samui Airport: Chaweng Beach, about 10 min; Nathon, about 25 min.
The Nathon time ends in the town on the west coast of Koh Samui, not at a pier.
A rental car cannot leave Thailand, and any other province needs the company’s agreement first.
No cover level or extra changes that rule for a car collected at Samui Airport.
Only if the company agrees when you book. The car must stay in Thailand, and other provinces need agreement too.
Tell the company if you want to take the car to the mainland or another island. Each company sets its own rules.
These prices assume the car comes back to Samui Airport, at the time you chose.
A new return place or time means cancelling and booking again. Tell the company early if you are running late.
Leave time for fuel and the handover before your flight; the drive is short, but the inspection still takes a few minutes.
Each bar is a typical daily price for a week from the 15th, collected and returned at the airport. With a small fleet, prices can jump.
N/A means no price was found for that month.
Any handover fee sits inside these figures. Other times, cover or extras give a different total.
Days are counted in blocks of 24 hours, so bringing the car back late costs a whole extra day. Ask the company before you keep it longer.
Check the seats, bags and drivers before you book, so collection at the airport is quick.
Anyone sharing the wheel goes on the booking first, with their own licence and permit, and must pass the car’s age and experience rules.
Ask for child seats as extras where the car offers them, and check that each one fits before you leave the airport.
A few seven-seaters are on offer. Fill every seat and the boot shrinks, so think about suitcases as well as people.
Only a small animal kept inside its travel box from start to finish may come along. Plan where the box will sit.
The deposit and your share of any damage are separate amounts. Check both on the car you choose before adding cover.
Basic is the usual start. Most of the cars shown include Basic (CDW), with the deposit set at the same level as your damage liability.
Plus can remove both. On some cars, paid Full Coverage Plus brings the deposit and the excess down to zero.
Exclusions remain. Standard cover leaves out the wheels, underside, windscreen and interior, whichever level you choose.
Your car hire excess only caps what you pay for covered damage. Neglect or deliberate damage voids any cover, and road limits apply at every level.
Show the original licence from home plus an International Driving Permit, each valid beyond the return date. Photocopies and phone apps will not do.
Carry the permit and your licence together. Without the permit you risk a fine and a refused insurance claim.
Age and years licensed are set for each car and can differ between similar models. Check before you pay.
With a UK licence, the permit you need for Thailand is the 1968 version.
Fill up to the level you started with, and keep a few minutes for the inspection.
Agree any extra time with the company before the booking ends.
To change dates or the car, cancel and book again.
A week’s notice is needed for most cars and thirty days for luxury models or convertibles. The optional cancellation extra shortens it to one day; after that the advance is kept.
Email your voucher with a request to cancel. Within fourteen days the advance goes back to the card or account you used, minus a 6% payment fee.
Yes. Samui International Airport is the airport on Koh Samui, and both names mean the same place.
Fewer than at Phuket, so book early for busy dates. A few cars are brought over from elsewhere with a large transfer charge in the price.
Not on the cars shown here, but each one takes a deposit. Check how your car accepts the deposit and the balance.
No. The company meets you at the point on your voucher, not at the airport’s own rental desks.
Yes. Chaweng Beach is about ten minutes away on a clear road, once the handover is done.
Choose your landing and departure times on Koh Samui and see every car’s total, deposit and cover.
