Car rental in Oman with no deposit

No-deposit car hire in Oman, with pickup at Muscat or Salalah airport, a Muscat office or delivery. Your money stays free; cover and remaining payments show per car.

No-deposit car hire deals

Choose an Omani collection point

Mirbat gets no-deposit delivery from Salalah, but Muttrah deliveries from Muscat hold a deposit. Your confirmation names the meeting point.

Which rental costs remain?

Advance payment

Book with 15% to 20% of the rent paid online, not counting handover fees. A no-deposit car still needs this advance.

Outstanding balance

The rest of the hire goes to the Omani company at pickup, by the booking’s methods. Prices start in US dollars; use the voucher amounts.

Handover charges

Delivery or an airport handover may add a charge, included in the total. Compare like pickups; zero deposit says nothing about the final cost.

Out-of-hours costs

Muscat airport pickup or return outside a company’s hours can cost more, varying by car. Quote with your real handover times before paying.

How is security removed?

Zero from the start

With a zero starting deposit, nothing is collected. That figure is for the starting cover, so recheck it after choosing cover and extras.

Optional paid removal

Some Salalah cars sell a paid No deposit extra, while normal cover keeps a deposit. Weigh that cost against cars that start at zero.

Cover for Omani car hire

A deposit and your damage share are different things. Choose cover for the trip even when nothing is held.

Minimum coverageIncluded as standard
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Damage to your hire car (not included)
Basic coverage
  • Limited collision cover (CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Glass and tyre damage (not included)
Full Coverage
  • Limited driver liability (Super CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
Full Coverage Plus
  • Full damage cover (included)
  • No driver liability for accident damage (included)
  • Basic CDW caps the collision bill you face. Oman’s standard cover excludes the interior, wheels, underside and windscreen; check any upgrade for them.
  • Super CDW under Full Coverage can cut the excess, though some cars keep the Basic amount. On some Muscat cars the share falls but the deposit stays.
  • Some Muscat cars carry Full Coverage Plus at an individual price; Salalah cars do not. It clears your accident-damage share, but not every upgrade removes the deposit.
  • Deliberate vandalism or neglect makes Omani cover void. Use public paved roads only, and the car may not leave Oman; stronger cover does not change this.
Report an incident promptly

When an insured event happens, inform the Omani company without delay and ask the police for paperwork, unless the company agrees otherwise. Missing these steps cancels the cover and leaves you liable.

Which alternatives keep a hold?

Office and delivered cars

Salalah office cars and Muttrah deliveries hold a deposit, as do some Muscat cars, by cash or card. Ask how and when it is repaid.

Low is not zero

Low deposit results can include real amounts, small or large in Muscat. Read the figure, and choose No deposit if nothing must be held.

Filter your preferred arrangement

  1. Set the itinerary

Say where your Oman rental starts and ends, and the dates. Add age and licence history to hide cars that do not fit.

  2. Choose zero security

Select No deposit and open a result. Add the equipment you need, check the car and finish the booking.

  3. Save the confirmation

Your confirmation email names the company and its contacts. Ask them about service or the car’s condition.

Security amounts versus payment eligibility

A separate card condition

Some Salalah cars have no deposit yet need a credit card, with a cash-only balance. The main driver shows the embossed credit card in person.

Renting without a credit card

Some Oman cars that need no credit card still hold deposits. Debit must be named in booking and voucher, on the driver’s embossed card.

Practical questions before travelling

Can I rent an automatic or a seven-seater in Oman with no deposit?

Yes, from ordinary cars to seven-seaters; check the seats. With “Or similar” a comparable car may come instead, so use the guaranteed-model filter if the model matters. Muscat and Salalah have separate fleets, so the choice differs.

Do no-deposit cars in Oman have unlimited kilometres?

In Muscat, some no-deposit cars have unlimited mileage and some have daily limits; Salalah’s all have kilometre caps. Check your car before long drives.

How is a short hire charged, and can I extend it?

Billing starts with a full twenty-four-hour day, even for shorter hires, and each part day after costs a full day. Ask the company about extending before the hire ends.

What do I still pay at return on a no-deposit car?

Refill to the pickup level; a shortfall costs the company’s fuel rate and extra earns nothing. You also pay washing if dirt prevents inspection, plus parking, tolls, fuel and fines.

Can I bring a pet, and do I need to stay reachable?

Small pets in carriers only. Your phone needs its country code and must work through the hire and on the day before; if they cannot reach you, service complaints are refused.
