Should I collect at Phuket Airport or in Khao Lak?

Khao Lak cars here are delivered to your address. To drive from the terminal instead, choose Phuket Airport pickup.

Delivery to your resort

Give the resort name, full address and an easy meeting spot. Khao Lak is spread out, so agree the exact place.

Phuket Airport pickup

Choose Phuket Airport to drive straight from arrivals. Khao Lak is 84.2 km away, about 90 minutes on clear roads.

Changing the meeting

Keep your voucher and the company’s number handy. Report arrival changes and agree any new place or time first.

Price Phuket Airport pickup separately from delivery to your resort; the same car can cost differently for each.

Do you need a credit card to rent a car in Khao Lak?

Check the balance, deposit and accepted payment methods on your car. A car that needs no credit card still has its own deposit and balance rules.

Delivery is in the price. The deposit is separate: it secures the rental and is not a delivery charge.

Check how each is paid. Check how the balance and the deposit can each be paid. A method accepted for one may not work for the other.

You pay 15 to 20% online and the rest locally, in the currency the company accepts. If a credit card is needed, the main driver brings it in person with their name embossed. Debit works only if your booking and voucher accept it.

How far are Phuket and Ao Nang from Khao Lak?

Times start from JW Marriott in Khao Lak and assume clear roads. Add time for your own resort, parking, stops and traffic.

The Patong time ends at the Grand Mercure. Your own hotel may be nearer or further, and parking and sightseeing take extra time.

Allow for parking and other driving costs

Fuel, parking, fines and any tolls are yours to pay, even though delivery is included in the price.

  • Check your resort’s parking and its price before booking delivery. Meeting the company at the hotel does not reserve you a space.
  • Follow local signs and payment instructions. Ask the company how later charges reach you and how to pay them; do not assume an electronic account covers everything.

Agree the itinerary before leaving the resort

Check the mileage and travel rules on your car. Permission, road surface and the booked return still apply on an easy mainland drive.

Mileage calculation

Count the drive out and back plus local trips against the allowance. A day trip to Phuket adds far more distance than hopping between nearby resorts.

Province permission

Leaving the pickup province needs permission. Ask when you book and list every stop; the company sets any fee and conditions.

Paved road access

Stay on paved public roads and check the last stretch to your destination. An SUV does not make a dirt track allowed, whatever your sat nav says.

Contact and changes

Keep your booking phone, with its country code, working from the day before pickup to the end of the hire. Staying extra hotel nights does not extend the car; agree that first.

Can the delivered car finish in Phuket or Krabi?

Some Khao Lak delivery cars can be returned to an address in Patong, Phuket Town or Krabi. Choose the exact return place and time before comparing prices.

These returns are to agreed addresses, not Phuket or Krabi airports; an airport return needs its own quote. The total already includes delivery and the final handover.

How do Khao Lak rental prices change by month?

Typical daily prices for seven-day rentals starting on the 15th, with delivery included. The cars on offer change from month to month.

N/A means no price was found for that month.

Seats, bags and child seats for your group

Check the actual seats and extras on the car for your group. The class name alone does not tell you the layout or luggage space.

Seats required

Count your group and check the seats listed. An SUV may not have seven seats, and cars in one class can differ.

Bags on board

Check there is room for your bags as well as everyone. Full seats leave less boot space, so tell the company what you are bringing.

Shared driving

Add anyone who will drive as an extra driver. Check their licence and experience meet the car’s rules; being in the group is not enough.

Child equipment

Book the child seat or booster you need from the car’s extras and check it on arrival. Another listing’s extras do not tell you what your car has.

Insurance for your Khao Lak car hire

Check the cover on your car alongside its deposit and excess. They are separate, and not every car offers every level.

Minimum coverageIncluded as standard
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Damage to your hire car (not included)
Basic coverage
  • Limited collision cover (CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Glass and tyre damage (not included)
Full Coverage
  • Limited driver liability (Super CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
Full Coverage Plus
  • Full damage cover (included)
  • No driver liability for accident damage (included)

Read the component exclusions. Standard cover leaves out the wheels, underside, windscreen and interior. Basic CDW also excludes tyres and glass, even with a lower excess.

Tell the company about damage at once and get a police report, unless it agrees otherwise. If you skip this, cover is void and you pay the full cost.

Use the car as agreed. Deliberate damage, vandalism or neglect voids your cover. Extra cover never allows banned roads, border crossings or other banned use.

Choose the available level. Check your car’s cover options and the deposit that goes with each. The deposit is not the most you could pay for every event.

Bring the original driving documents

Bring your national licence and an original IDP to pickup, both valid until you return the car. Copies and digital versions are not accepted.

National licence and IDP

Bring both originals to the resort meeting. Delivery and short local trips need the same documents, so get your IDP before you travel.

Eligible main driver

Check the car’s minimum age and years licensed before paying. Similar cars can have different rules, and the company may refuse a driver who does not qualify.

Full rental days and the vehicle at return

You pay in whole 24-hour days, and going into an extra day costs a full day. Enter your real pickup and return times.

Fuel quantity

  • Return the car with the same fuel as at pickup. Missing fuel is charged at the company’s rate, and extra is not refunded. Plan your last fuel stop.

Condition check

  • Return the car clean enough to inspect, or you may pay for washing. Take your belongings and follow the return steps; leaving the car somewhere not agreed does not end the hire.

Small pets can travel only in a carrier; cleaning and damage rules still apply.

Keep the rental inside Thailand

The car must stay in Thailand.

A return elsewhere in the country or extra cover does not let you cross a border.

Know the cancellation deadline before paying

Your car type and the optional cancellation feature set the notice you need. Check it with the advance payment rules.

Notice period

Cancel seven days ahead, or thirty for luxury cars and convertibles; an option cuts this to one day. Late cancellation or no-show loses the advance.

Repayment process

Email your voucher to cancel. Refunds are paid within fourteen days, minus 6% of the advance for processing. To change plans, cancel and book again in time.

Questions about a Khao Lak delivery booking

Does the price include bringing the car to Khao Lak?

Yes, the prices shown include delivery and collection. Check the price for your resort address and times. The deposit is separate. Payment rules differ by car, and none of these cars asks for a credit card.

Can I use the route times from any resort?

No. They start from JW Marriott in Khao Lak. Work out your own drive, adding time for traffic, breaks and the last stretch. From Krabi Town it is about 2 h 10 min.

Is Phuket Airport collection the same service as resort delivery?

No. Choose Phuket Airport if you want the car at the airport. Delivery in Khao Lak is a separate booking with its own price.

Do the one-way cards promise an airport return?

No. They show address returns on some cars. An airport return is a different service you need to ask for.

Can I keep the car longer if I extend my hotel stay?

Only if you agree it with the company in advance. Booking more hotel nights does not change your car’s return date.
