Car rental in Georgia without a credit card

Rent a car in Georgia with cash or an accepted debit card. Pick up at Tbilisi, Kutaisi or Batumi airport, an office, or have it brought to your address.

Car hire deals without a credit card

Where can you collect?

All three cities offer airport handover. The total shown already includes any pickup and return charges.

How do you settle the bill?

Booking advance

To hold the car, prepay 15 to 20% of its cost online. Handover charges are not in that figure; you pay them with the balance.

Cash balance

For the balance, some Georgian cars want cash only, while others accept cards as well. Check the car you pick before you travel.

Debit conditions

Debit must be listed in the booking and voucher. If so, bring the main driver’s own embossed debit card in physical form, not digital.

Supplier currency

Georgian companies set prices and deposits in US dollars; euros are conversions that move with rates. The voucher states the deposit.

What security is taken?

Cash deposits

If a car accepts cash for the hire, it may take a cash deposit too. Every car sets its own deposit, separate from the rent.

Debit deposits

Some Tbilisi cars let you pay the deposit by debit. That alone does not tell you how the rest of the hire can be paid.

Insurance for Georgia car hire

Choose cover by what you would still owe and what is left out, not only by price.

Minimum coverageIncluded as standard
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Damage to your hire car (not included)
Basic coverage
  • Limited collision cover (CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
  • Glass and tyre damage (not included)
Full Coverage
  • Limited driver liability (Super CDW) (included)
  • Damage to other vehicles (TPL) (included)
Full Coverage Plus
  • Full damage cover (included)
  • No driver liability for accident damage (included)
  • Under Basic, CDW caps your collision share, but wheels, underside, windscreen and interior sit outside standard cover. Read what a higher level adds.
  • Full brings Super CDW, so your share may fall or stay as Basic. Full Coverage Plus, where offered, leaves no driver cost after accidental damage; some Georgian cars lack it.
  • On some Tbilisi cars Basic already holds no deposit yet keeps an excess. The excess caps your damage share; the deposit backs the agreement.
  • Neglect, vandalism and deliberate damage cancel the cover. So does driving on banned roads or in forbidden regions of Georgia, whatever level you choose.
Reporting an insured event

Tell the rental company at once and get a police report, unless the company agrees another way. Skip this and you lose cover and pay the full loss.

Could a credit requirement still apply?

Booking-specific rule

In Georgia a company may require credit on a particular booking. Other payment options are per car, not a promise for every rental.

Bring the right card

If a booking needs credit, the main driver brings an embossed credit card in their own name, physically. A companion’s card cannot replace it.

How to narrow the options

  1. Set your journey

Choose pickup and return places in Georgia, with dates and times. Driver age and licence length decide which cars you can book.

  2. Filter payment

Pick No credit card among the filters and open a result. Look at its terms and extras, then continue to the booking form.

  3. Keep supplier details

Keep your booking email to hand. Its company contacts let you talk about the handover and ask about the car.

Payment method versus money held

Alternative payment

No credit card changes how you can pay, not always the money needed at handover. A cash-friendly car can still hold a deposit.

Deposit-free rental

A zero-deposit booking leaves nothing with the company. Some Georgian cars pair that with other payments, so check both.

Before collecting your vehicle

Which licence should I bring for a cash-paid Georgian rental?

The original national licence, with Latin characters and valid for every booked day; photocopies and electronic versions are refused. If it only covers your home country, add an International Driving Permit; it is strongly advised.

Does the payment method change my mileage allowance?

No. The car sets the allowance, whatever you pay with. Georgia has unlimited-mileage cars and cars with a daily kilometre limit; the car details show which.

Are night handovers available at Tbilisi and Kutaisi airports?

Some cars can be picked up or returned there outside normal hours. A charge may apply at either end, so enter your times when pricing.

What notice should I give to cancel my Georgian reservation?

Seven days before pickup for ordinary cars, thirty for luxury or convertibles, a single day if you added the cancellation option. Cancelling or changing late, or a no-show without agreement, loses the advance. Eligible refunds: within fourteen days, minus 6%.

Can I drive a Georgian rental car into another country?

No. Georgian rental rules ban crossing national borders, whatever you pay with or whatever cover you buy. Book a separate car for travel beyond Georgia. A car rented in Batumi can reach Sarpi, inside Georgia, but cannot cross into Turkey.
